Variables
Independent variable: the pH of the priming liquid
Dependent variable: how far the rubber band can stretch
Control Group: the rubber bands not dipped in anything
Constants: Amount of liquid, time soaked, type of rubber band, type of vinegar/ammonia/water, amount of rubber band submerged, size of dowel/hole/base, thickness of rubber band, size of margarine tub, age of liquid, age of rubber band

Materials
Materials: 60 rubber bands, 1 empty 300 ml plastic margarine tub, 150 ml of distilled water, 150 ml of HomeRemedyPlus ammonia, 150 ml of 5% acidity vinegar, safety goggles/helmet, metal hook or ring, pencil, ruler, data table, plastic bag, 10 156g weights, timer, 2 S-hooks. If you are indoors, you probably should put some cushions underneath the weight while its hanging.
Procedure
1. Attach hook or ring to high surface, such as ceiling or rafters
2. Use 1 S-hook to connect rubber band to ring and the other to connect bag to rubber band
4. Drop 1 weight into bag and measure length of rubber band
5. Repeat step 4 until rubber band breaks or will not stretch any further
6. Record final length
7. Repeat steps 2-6 14 times, to record 15 numbers
8. Fill margarine tub halfway with distilled water
9. Repeat steps 2-7 soaking each rubber band in margarine tub for 1 minute before tying to ring
10. Rinse margarine tub and fill it halfway with ammonia.
11. Repeat steps 2-7, soaking each rubber band in margarine tub for 1 minute before tying to ring.
12. Rinse margarine tub and fill it halfway with vinegar
13. Repeat steps 2-7, soaking each rubber band in margarine tub for 1 minute before tying to ring.
